As the Team Head, you will lead and manage initiatives to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing various initiatives and projects that enhance the bank’s regulatory and compliance risk management framework, ensuring alignment with regional and global standards, and implementing strategies to mitigate potential risks. Lead and manage local, regional and Head Office legal and compliance projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Collaborate with senior leadership, legal teams, internal and external stakeholders to align initiative / project objectives with organizational goals. Provide advice to internal stakeholders on both business compliance and regulatory compliance matters. Keep abreast of all relevant regulations, laws and codes. Ensure all initiatives / projects adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and stay updated on regulation changes that may impact the bank’s operations. Analyze regulatory requirements and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential legal, compliance, and regulatory risks, and develop mitigation strategies including but not limited to formulating compliance policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the legal and compliance functions, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Prepare detailed reports and documentation for senior management and regulatory bodies, providing insights and updates on initiative / project status and compliance matters.

To be considered, you should be a degree holder with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in legal and compliance function within the financial services industry, preferably in corporate banking environment. Proven track record in project management, focusing on regulatory and compliance-driven projects. Strong understanding of international banking regulations risk management frameworks. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail. Good command of English and Cantonese; fluent Mandarin would also be an advantage.
